In recent years, China’s total corn planting area has shown a steady upward trend. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the corn planting area in 2024 reached approximately 671 million mu (about 44.7 million hectares), with summer maize accounting for over 50%. As a crucial grain crop, summer maize not only supports China's feed and deep corn processing industries, but also serves as a key source of income for farmers.

The application of precision fertilization technologies is not only essential for achieving high yields and efficiency, but also a key driver for resource optimization and promoting sustainable agriculture. Full-cycle field trials conducted in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, show that applying ENTEC® 20-10-10 as a basal fertilizer in mid-June delivered outstanding performance across all growth stages, making it the top choice for maize growers.

Note: Measurements are based on 10 consecutive plants per sample, with averages recorded.

1

Dense and well-distributed root networks:
Primary roots grew thicker, with a marked increase in the number of lateral and fibrous roots. This created a healthier root system, improving both soil anchorage and nutrient uptake.
2

Greener, healthier leaves:
Fewer yellowing lower leaves were observed. Leaf color was a deep green, leaf area increased, and photosynthetic efficiency improved, all indicating a well-nourished plant with enhanced resilience.
The combination of strong root systems and healthy foliage significantly boosts the plant’s efficiency in absorbing water and nutrients, providing a solid foundation for high and stable yields.

At maturity, maize in the ENTEC® demonstration plots produced fuller kernels and fewer barren tips, enhancing commercial value and appearance.
Summer maize in the ENTEC® plots yielded an average increase of 97 kilograms per mu (approx. 1,455 kg per hectare), a 9.3% improvement over the control group. Based on the market price for fresh maize kernels at the time, this translated to an increase in revenue of 60.4 yuan per mu.
